“JUST AS NORB WOULD SAVE SEEDS FROM THE FRUIT OF HIS LABOR AND PLANT THEM BACK IN THE SOIL TO PROPAGATE A NEW CROP, IT IS TIME FOR THOSE OF US WHO HAVE BENEFITED FROM HIS WORK TO GATHER THE ENERGY GERMINATED BY OUR SUCCESS AND FEED IT BACK INTO OUR NEW STUDENTS, SO THEY TOO CAN FLOURISH.”
Dr. Patricia Smith
Dean of the Norbert O. Schedler Honors College
This is your opportunity to leave a lasting mark in the Honors Center while helping grow the TAG/URGE/ELF Endowment to fund study abroad, undergraduate research, internships, service opportunities, and creative projects. The leaves are engraved with your name or the name of someone you wish to honor, and there are multiple giving levels available. The Giving Tree is located in the Honors Center foyer, prominently placed where visitors can appreciate its beauty and the student support it signifies.
We look forward to a new period of growth as we move through our fifth decade. Norb was fond of the old Chinese proverb that says “the best time to plant a tree was 10 years ago; the next best time is now.” Please help this tree come into full bloom and help Honors students flourish for years to come.
PLANT THE SEED…
A TREE STANDS STRONG NOT BY ITS FRUITS OR ITS BRANCHES, BUT BY THE DEPTH OF ITS ROOTS.
