Scholarships

PERFORMANCE SCHOLARSHIPS – Each semester the Theatre program awards a limited number of performance scholarships.

These scholarships vary in amount and are awarded to students who have the potential to contribute leadership to our program by filling positions as performers, technicians, or production assistants. Scholarships are available to all Theatre majors and minors and are awarded on a semester basis. Applications and requirements for these scholarships are available from the Theatre Business Manager, Snow Fine Arts 233 or by clicking here for:

CONTINUING AND TRANSFER STUDENTS – Regardless of whether you’ve previously received a performance scholarship.

LEONA SCOTT BOOK SCHOLARSHIP – The UCA Theatre Foundation offers book scholarships to deserving Theatre students in memory of Leona Scott, long-time Director of Theatre. This scholarship is made possible by patrons, alumni, faculty, and staff who donate to the UCA Theatre Foundation. Students who apply for Performance Scholarships are automatically considered for the Theatre Foundation Scholarships. No separate application is necessary.
 

JAMES BRIDGES SCHOLARSHIP – Junior and Senior Theatre and Film students are eligible for the James Bridges Scholarship. The money supports outstanding student-artists as they pursue studies in Acting, Directing, or Dramatic Writing for the stage, film, or TV. Applications are taken in the Spring of each year with the scholarship awarded for the following year. Deadlines vary, but will normally be around April 1. Applicants must submit an approved Artistic Project in their area of interest. WILLIAM C. PLUMMER SCHOLARSHIP – Senior Theatre majors (90 hours or more) are eligible for the William C. Plummer Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded based upon financial need. Applications are taken in the Spring of each year with the scholarship awarded for the following year. Deadlines vary, but will normally be around April 1. Contact the Theatre Business Manager in Snow Fine Arts 233 or call 501-450-5092 for requirements, applications, and exact deadlines.

PAID STAFF – UCA Theatre has a number of paid staff positions available in scenery, lights, costumes, props and theatre management. Some of these positions are available through the Federal Work Study program. UCA Theatre also has a limited number of paid staff positions for skilled workers regardless of their eligibility for financial aid.
