In the Fall of 2020, the Student Loan Guarantee Foundation of Arkansas launched the Scholarships Leading to Graduation for Arkansans (SLGFA) program. This scholarship program was designed to help students who had stopped out of school, despite being close to graduation, return and complete their remaining degree requirements. The SLGFA Scholarship was made available to all 23 public and private four-year institutions in the state of Arkansas.
In the five years since program inception, UCA has helped 80 students receive over $460,000 in SLGFA Scholarship funds. The vast majority of scholarship recipients have already successfully earned their degree, while several more are on pace to earn their UCA degree this year.
UCA has been the leader in helping students take advantage of this wonderful opportunity, accounting for nearly two-thirds of the scholarship funds awarded to students throughout the state of Arkansas.
“It has truly been an honor to work closely with the Student Loan Guarantee Foundation of Arkansas to help UCA students fulfill their dream of earning a baccalaureate degree,” said Brian Corbin, Director of Transfer Services. “The commitment SLGFA has made to students in Arkansas is exemplary; UCA will continue to advocate for as many students as possible to receive this tremendous scholarship.”
