Scott holds both a Bachelor of Science in Education (BSE) in Kinesiology and Physical Education and a Master of Science (MS) in Health Sciences from UCA.

Scott has had a diverse professional journey, holding positions such as a Math Teacher and Football Coach in the Little Rock School District (LRSD). At UCA, he served as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Health Sciences and a Football Coach. Additionally, at the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM), he worked as a Football Coach, Recruiting Coordinator, and Lecturer. Each of these roles has equipped him with valuable experience and knowledge in both education and sports. Throughout his career, he has consistently worked with student-athletes, guiding them in all aspects of their education.

With 16 years of employment at UCA, including the last ten years as the Director of Athletic Academic Advising, Scott has significantly contributed to the university’s achievements. Under his leadership, UCA currently leads all Arkansas Division 1 universities in NCAA Graduation Success Rate. He also secured the NCAA AASP grant, further demonstrating his commitment to academic excellence.

Scott’s primary goal is to assist student-athletes in graduating and becoming active alumni of UCA. He defines academic success as students achieving their academic goals and learning to navigate higher education, culminating in the successful completion of at least their undergraduate degrees. Scott finds inspiration in seeing student-athletes achieve both academically and athletically, and their eventual graduation brings him immense satisfaction.

Outside of his professional role, Scott enjoys watching UCA student-athletes compete, reflecting his deep connection to their successes. He looks forward to the continued success of UCA’s students, with a focus on increasing graduation and retention rates.

Scott advises students to attend classes regularly, get to know their professors, and be proactive in asking questions and seeking help before issues arise. His dedication to student success and his comprehensive support for student-athletes make him an invaluable member of the UCA community.
