FAQ – Probation/Alert (Academic Recovery)

I received an email that I am on Probation or Alert and need to meet with a Peer Coach. How can I do that?

Your peer coach will send you an email asking you to set up an appointment to meet with them. Please check your email often and respond to the prompts.

My overall GPA is above a 2.0 so why am I on probation?

Your academic standing is based on your institutional GPA. When you check your unofficial transcript you will see 3 GPAs:

  • Institutional GPA – just the courses you’ve completed at UCA
  • Transfer GPA – courses you’ve completed at other institutions
  • Overall GPA – average of courses at UCA and Other Institutions

How do I calculate my GPA?

You can download the GPA-Calculator to your personal computer or portable hard drive and keep track of you GPA semester by semester to meet your GPA goal.

I have a Student Success Hold on my account and I can not register.

Academic Alert and Probation holds are placed on student accounts after the 11th day of class for each semester. This hold does prevent registration for future terms. After a student has met with a peer coach the hold will be removed. It typically takes 2 – 3 business days after a Peer Coaching Session to have the hold removed.
