Dr. Pate is an occupational therapist that graduated from the University of Central Arkansas in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science- emphasis in OT and 2022 with a Post-Professional Clinical Doctorate in OT with a Low Vision Rehabilitation Graduate Certificate. She has practiced primarily in Adult Inpatient Rehab for the past 25 years. In addition, she has practiced in home health, acute care, and skilled nursing facilities as well as management in therapy and nurse/clinical liaison for the hospital. Dr. Pate’s areas of expertise include low vision assessment and intervention with adults with acquired brain injury and age-related conditions, PDPM and GG scoring with outcome and quality measurements in IRF to maximize patients abilities, geriatric rehabilitation, and neurological rehabilitation with stroke and brain injury patients. Dr. Pate’s research interests center within the adult neurological population and rehabilitation focusing on low vision program development,  assessment and interventions for low vision, subluxation management, and motor learning with neurological population. It is her passion to equip and educate students to transition into a confident practitioner with enthusiasm about the field of occupational therapy.
