Voice students win at state conference

Several students of University of Central Arkansas voice faculty earned awards during the National Association of Teachers of Singing State Conference, Feb. 23-24 at Ouachita Baptist University.Drew Ladd won first place in freshmen men; Ron McDaniel won first place in the sophomore men category; Shannah Cummings won first place in high school women; and Kacie Blankenship won first place in the graduate women category.

Ladd is a student of Dr. Robert Holden. Blankenship, McDaniel and Cummings are students of Dr. Martha Antolik.

In addition, two students of Antolik, Jeremy Osborne and Chase Burns, placed in the Finals of the sophomore and junior men divisions.

The students and faculty also attended several recitals and master classes held during the two-day conference.
