The National Association of Schools of Theatre at a recent meeting voted to continue UCA’s good standing for an additional ten year period.This action was taken following a self-study and site visit and upon review of UCA by the NAST Commission on Accreditation.
The Commission commended the faculty and leadership of the UCA theatre program (a unit of the Department of Mass Communication and Theatre) for their “dedication and enthusiastic commitment to their students.” The Commission further commended UCA for “a university culture and climate that supports the development of theatre as a center of future excellence.”
UCA is one of only two universities in the state with NAST accreditation and the only one accredited with a Liberal Arts (generalist) Theatre program.
