University of Central Arkansas Service-Learning Program will host a student volunteer fair on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, from 1-3 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom room 205.
The fair connects students with over 40 nonprofits from Conway and surrounding areas and registered student organizations from UCA.
Attendees will learn about local volunteer opportunities ranging from food insecurity, homelessness, working with the elderly and more. The event allows students to meet nonprofit leaders and find ways to engage with the community while at UCA. Students are encouraged to sign-up for an opportunity with a specific nonprofit of their interest.
Director of Service-Learning Lesley Graybeal hopes students leave the event knowing about the many volunteer opportunities available to them and the value they hold. “When you volunteer, you are part of something big here at UCA and in the Conway community. Volunteer opportunities can lead to internship and job opportunities, and who knows, the most important relationships you build while you’re here at UCA might be with someone you serve or serve alongside here in the Conway community,” Graybeal said.
The UCA Service-Learning Program connects students to opportunities to acquire skills and knowledge through meaningful service and reflection. For more information about the Service-Learning Program, visit uca.edu/servicelearning.
Students from all majors are welcome to attend this free event. No RSVP is necessary. For information about volunteer opportunities, students can visit uca.edu/volunteer or view the event in OrgSync.
