The University of Central Arkansas announced today that its Day of Giving on March 7, raised $1.47 million. This is the highest dollar amount raised in the 10-year history of the institution’s Day of Giving.
The total was announced today during a special celebration on campus. This year marks the third year that UCA’s Day of Giving has raised more than $1 million. The first was in 2020 with a total of $1.12 million. The second was in 2023 with $1.29 million. Since Day of Giving’s inception in 2015, UCA has raised more than $6.6 million dollars.
“Celebrating 10 years of Day of Giving is absolutely a momentous occasion, but to break last year’s record of $1.29 million surpasses even our expectations. Year after year, our friends, donors, students, faculty and staff support this institution through their giving,” said UCA President Houston Davis. “We are so grateful to all of our supporters. UCA would not enjoy our level of success without them.”
More than 2,912 gifts were contributed from 41 states and 73 countries. The average gift size was $503. The total number of donors was 2,369 individuals which also set a new record for participation.
“We know the importance of participation. When everyone comes together to support UCA, regardless of the size of the gift, we see big impact,” said Mary Lackie, vice president for University Advancement and UCA Foundation President. “Our Day of Giving results are a nod to the many donors and supporters across the world who believe in the transformation of students’ lives at UCA.”
Funds raised during Day of Giving support a wide range of needs including scholarships, state-of-the-art equipment, research and experiential learning opportunities that equip students to be leaders in the regional and global economies.
More than 80 campus and community partners served as Day of Giving ambassadors, promoting the event through social platforms, phone calls and special events and giveaways on campus.
UCA students represented the largest percentage among donors with 36%, followed by alumni at 31%. UCA faculty and staff comprised 21% of total donors; friends 8% and parents nearly 3%.
“It’s exciting to see our faculty, staff, alumni and friends who give year after year for Day of Giving, but perhaps even more humbling is to see our students give back to their institution,” said Haley Fowler, senior director of Annual Giving.
