Based on the novel of the same name by Mark Haddon and adapted for the stage by Simon Stephens,“The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” is a family drama about a neurodiverse 15-year-old young man named Christopher who, while setting out to identify the murderer of a neighbor’s dog, discovers secrets about his mother and father that will take him on an adventure that ultimately reveals the true possibilities within himself.
Chris Fritzges, UCA associate professor and performance director, calls the work “a beautiful story, told in a very theatrical way that touches the heart.”
Artist-in-residence Hideaki Tsutsui will serve as the lighting designer. Tsutsui is currently the chair of the University of Texas El Paso Department of Theatre and Dance. His work can be seen from New York City to the West End in London. Additional support for Tsutsui’s residency is generously provided by Engage Management.
