Bridget Fortenberry

The University of Central Arkansas has hired Bridget Fortenberry as the associate vice president of the Office of Human Resources and Risk Management.
In this role, Fortenberry will oversee operations of the Office of Human Resources and Risk Management, along with more than a dozen staff members who focus on recruitment, employment, insurance and benefits, employee relations, classification, compensation and personnel information systems.
Fortenberry, an alumna of UCA, has worked in human resources for over 20 years. She most recently served as the associate vice president of human resources and chief human resources officer at the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture from 2020 to 2023. Previous to her work at the University of Arkansas, Fortenberry held the associate director of human resources position at UCA from 2015 to 2020.
Prior to working in higher education, Fortenberry worked in the private industry sector as the regional human resources manager for a global manufacturer. Additionally, she served as the program coordinator for the Arkansas chapter of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources.
Fortenberry earned her bachelor’s degree in business, in addition to a Master of Business Administration from UCA.
