CONWAY—The University of Central Arkansas continues to follow the futuristic vision set forth in the Framework for the Future with this week’s return of the UCA Magazine.
The Framework for the Future was introduced in November 2013 during the investiture ceremony for UCA President Tom Courtway. The plan laid out three primary goals with several strategies, deadlines, and responsibilities to achieve the goals. One goal was to “maximize external relations effectiveness.”
“The return of the UCA Magazine is an excellent way to tell our alumni and friends about the many good things happening at UCA. One of our goals is to do a better job communicating with our supporters. This magazine does just that,” said UCA President Tom Courtway. “Whether you see the publication in print or view it online, please read and enjoy the stories about the people and projects that help make UCA the great institution it is.”
Originally, the UCA Magazine was printed from 2006 to 2010 as a 36-page publication that included feature stories, class notes, profiles, campus updates, alumni news, and more. The newer version employs many of the same features of the original publication. The UCA Magazine, in its entirety, can be viewed online with extended content, including a photo gallery, at UCA Magazine.
Alumni can share information about professional awards, honors, marriages, births, and other events using the Class Notes feature in the online magazine.
The magazine will be published twice a calendar year in spring and fall and mailed to alumni and friends of the university with plans to increase distribution and circulation in years to come.
“The relaunch of the UCA Magazine is a continuation of our efforts to expand and improve communication with our alumni and donors. Adding this to our e-newsletter and social media communications should provide multiple ways to stay in touch with the great things happening at UCA,” said Shelley Mehl, vice president for Advancement and president of the UCA Foundation, Inc.
The current issue of the UCA Magazine includes feature stories on Framework for the Future, the university’s proactive efforts at adhering to Title IX regulations, and “Up Close” profiles of students and alumni, as well as many other items.
