The University of Central Arkansas has launched a refresh of its website uca.edu. The updated site features content that visitors are looking for and easier navigation.
The new site uses information from Google analytics to determine what is most important for the home page, said Brent Passmore, director of web development.
“The site features responsive design, a method of designing content that automatically adjusts to fit the screen,” Passmore said. “This allows all devices equal access to the website without the additional cost of designing and maintaining a separate mobile site.”
The Office of Web Development began working on the refresh a year and a half ago and included a public review in March along with a campus wide call for feedback.
“We are excited about the new look and easier navigation for our web home page,” said Jeff Pitchford, vice president of university and government relations. “While focusing on a clean look, the refreshed website represents a nearly 50 percent increase in page load time for both desktop and mobile users.”
