CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas Jazz Ensembles will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13, in the Snow Fine Arts Center Recital Hall.
The concert is free and open to the public.
Dr. Jackie Lamar, professor of saxophone and director of the UCA Dixieland Band, said the group would perform traditional Mardi Gras music in honor of Fat Tuesday, Feb. 13.
Program for the Dixieland Band will include Bourbon Street Parade by Paul Barbarin, Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans by Eddie Lange, Way Down Yonder in New Orleans by John Turner Layton and Royal Garden Blues by Clarence and Spencer Williams.
Jazz Ensemble II, directed by Larry Jones, will perform On Green Dolphin Street by Keeper & Washington, arranged by Frank Mantooth; Bashful Albert by Sammy Nestico; and Consonata by Dee Barton.
Jazz Ensemble I, directed by Dr. Gail Robertson, will perform 3-2-1-0 by Oliver Nelson; Time After Time by Sammy Cahn and Jule Styne, arranged by Don Schamber; I Hope In Time A Change Will Come by Oliver Nelson featuring Justin Mason on soprano saxophone; Hunting Wabbits by Gordon Goodwin; and Big Swing Face by Bill Potts.
