The University of Central Arkansas and the Student Government Association will host student representatives from each of the states four-year, public institutions of higher learning.
The inaugural meeting of the Arkansas Association of Students is Friday, Feb. 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the skyboxes inside Bear Hall.
Arkansas senators and representatives, as well as Dr. Brett Powell, director of the Arkansas Department of Higher Education are expected to attend the full-day session.
“This meeting will be great for Arkansas students because it allows student leaders to come together to understand some of our common issues,” said Zach Carter, president of the UCA Student Government Association. “So, when we go to lobby our leaders in the Arkansas House and Senate, we will be on a unified front.”
