The Division of Outreach and Community Engagement at UCA in partnership with United Way of Central Arkansas will host a breakfast and informational meeting for local nonprofit agencies at 8:30 on Wednesday, October 2 in the Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center.
The purpose of the breakfast is to give nonprofit agencies an opportunity to exchange ideas and dialogue about their need for community support. Participants will explore how local nonprofit agencies can benefit through partnerships and support available through the various service programs at UCA.
“UCA is constantly looking for ways to engage with our local nonprofits and to assess the community’s need for help through our service-learning, volunteerism, and other civic engagement programs. We want to show our appreciation to the agencies for all the work they do in the community with the breakfast but we also want to know how we can partner with them to make an even greater impact in the community and the lives of our citizens, “says Kristy Carter, executive director of Outreach and Community Engagement.
Maret Cahill, United Way’s Executive Director says, “It is very important that we come together as a community to determine what our strengths are and to find ways to connect in an effort to better the community. The United Way is happy to be a part of this event because we want to hear from the local nonprofits about the level of support they need to fulfill their missions.”
There is no cost to attend the breakfast, and it is open to nonprofit agencies. For more information or to RSVP for this event, please visit uca.edu/servicelearning or call 501.852.7416.
