The University of Central Arkansas has named Nadia Eslinger the assistant director of Student Success.
UCA’s Office of Student Success helps students with study habits and time management, and provides resources like tutoring and peer coaches in order to help students reach their academic goals.
As assistant director, Eslinger will support students in their academic journeys through working on programs like First2Go, which supports first-generation students; Fail Forward Week, which covers managing failure; and the Peer Coaching program, through which Eslinger will supervise undergraduate and graduate coaches. She will also administer to first-time freshmen the Mapworks survey, which assesses students’ adjustment to college life.
“I am very excited to begin this role here at UCA. I’ve always considered UCA as my home, and helping students is my passion,” Eslinger said. “I feel that with the right support networks, access to campus resources and a lot of grit, every student at UCA can succeed. If they bring the grit, we will do the rest.”
Before her new role, Eslinger served as a biology and pre-education advisor in UCA’s Academic Advising Center, where she created programs such as After-Hours Advising and At-Risk Case Management. She also has experience serving as an area coordinator and residence hall director for Arkansas State University and the University of Georgia, respectively.
Eslinger earned both her bachelor’s in history and master’s in College Student Personnel and Administration from UCA.
