UCA ENROLLMENT INCREASES,
FIRST TIME SINCE FALL 2008
CONWAY—The University of Central Arkansas experienced a 3.8 percent increase in overall enrollment and a 2.1 percent increase in freshman enrollment, according to preliminary enrollment data.
Total enrollment for the fall of 2013 is 11,534 in comparison to the total enrollment in the fall of 2012 which was 11,107.
“The UCA community is excited about the increase in enrollment this fall. This is the first year since fall 2008 that enrollment has increased, and the 11,534 students represent UCA’s largest enrollment since fall 2009,” said UCA President Tom Courtway.
UCA’s 2.1 percent increase in freshman enrollment brings the freshman class to 2,202 students for the fall of 2013, according to preliminary enrollment data. Total first-time undergraduate enrollment is up 45 over 2,157 students in 2012. This marks the fourth consecutive year first-time undergraduate enrollment has increased at UCA.
“It shows that UCA is truly a place of choice for our incoming freshman across the state. UCA has a lot to offer. We are centrally located. We provide curriculum that is challenging and prepares our students for their chosen careers,” said Victor Green, chair of the Board of Trustees.
Graduate student enrollment is 1780, about 277 more graduate students than in the fall of 2012, according to preliminary numbers.
“It would not have been possible without the work of the Board of Trustees, our excellent admissions staff, the efforts of the UCA faculty and staff, as well as all of the student ambassadors and student orientation staff. Working together, we have continually told the families and students of Arkansas and this region of the country about our great academics, campus life, student organizations and activities, and athletics,” Courtway said.
