The University of Central Arkansas Division of Outreach and Community Engagement will host a celebration to commemorate the one-year anniversary of UCA Downtown on Friday, Jan. 27 from 4–7 p.m. at 1105 West Oak Street in downtown Conway.
At 5 p.m., President Houston Davis will make welcoming remarks to the public.
The one-year celebration offers live entertainment, door prizes and refreshments. Also, the College of Fine Arts and Communication has curated a student-art display.
The event is free and the public is invited.
“Just over a year ago, we opened UCA Downtown as a way to share UCA’s resources with the wider community. We want to celebrate and thank the community for making this first year a success,” says Shelley Mehl, associate vice president for the Division of Outreach and Community Engagement.
UCA Downtown opened in early 2016 and has hosted over 50 events, including legislative panels, business networking groups, faculty symposiums, receptions and public meetings. It serves as home to the expanding culinary class offerings. UCA Downtown complements the facilities available on the UCA campus such as Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center and McCastlain Ballroom.
