A University of Central Arkansas student in the Department of Psychology and Counseling has won an award to attend a conference on personality and social psychology.
Clifton Adamson, a doctoral student in the UCA School Psychology program, has received the Diversity Graduate Travel Award from the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP). Adamson will present his research titled “Gay Perception of LGB Sexual Identity and Heteronormative Influence” at the organization’s conference in Portland, Oregon, in February 2019.
The Diversity Graduate Travel Award provides stipends to graduate students to cover conference-related expenses as a way to increase diversity within personality and social psychology.
Adamson will receive a $500 stipend and was selected from 150 applicants.
The Society for Personality and Social Psychology aims to advance the science, teaching and application of social and personality psychology through educational programs, networking opportunities, funding and more. It is the world’s largest organization for social and personality psychologists.
