UCA Board approves Greek Village Project Contracts, Bonds

CONWAY—The University of Central Arkansas Board of Trustees approved three items on a teleconference agenda on Wednesday, November 6, 2013.

The board approved an amendment to the contract with Caradine Companies, the architecture firm selected by the board in September of 2012 for the Greek Village Phase I project. The amended contract for the $13.8 million project is for $877,508.52 and will be for developing the design and construction documents for the project.

The Board also approved Nabholz Construction Services as the general contractor for the Greek Village Phase I project and to work with the architectural firm on the project design and development. A committee made up of representatives from the campus, community and the project architecture firm was selected to evaluate RFQ submissions and to make the recommendation to the board. The committee recommended Nabholz.

In addition, the Board authorized the issuance and delivery of the $13.8 million in bonds for this project that had been brought before the Board on October 11, 2013 and also approved at the October 25, 2013 meeting of the Arkansas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
