A long-time supporter of the University of Central Arkansas has generously pledged $1 million to UCA Athletics through a planned gift.
The $1 million gift will support two important initiatives: a scholarship for women’s athletics and an endowment fund for maintenance of the UCA Strength and Conditioning Center.
UCA Director of Athletics Brad Teague said, “On behalf of the division, we are very appreciative of this significant gift to support UCA Athletics. We are especially proud of this major endowment to support women’s athletics and strength and conditioning for all student-athletes. This donor has a passion for the University of Central Arkansas Athletics program, and it shows through the support provided on many levels. This $1 million gift will truly benefit our student-athletes forever.”
The gift comes as the university will soon move forward into a comprehensive capital campaign, an expansive way to raise university support where funds can benefit a variety of campus needs such as facilities, endowments, scholarship and programmatic support.
“This gift came at the perfect time as we prepare for the planning stage of a campaign,” said Vice President of University Advancement Kale Gober. “I can’t think of a better way for one to leave a legacy than to include the University of Central Arkansas in one’s estate plans.”
Gober added, “The value of women’s athletics continues to grow, and this gift is a testament to the impact that the incredible female student-athletes of UCA have on the community.”
