Two students receive CLAWS awards at October board meeting

Lilly Daugherty and Abigail Wells were recognized as Bear CLAWS recipients at the University of Central Arkansas Board of Trustees October meeting.

CLAWS, an acronym for Celebrating the Lofty Achievements of our Wonderful Students, is awarded to one or more exceptional students or recognized student organizations during regularly scheduled board meetings.

Daugherty is a second-year occupational therapy graduate student from Star City. She began her UCA journey as an undergraduate Honors University Scholars student. 

While working as a box office worker for both Reynolds Performance Hall and the Windgate Center for Fine and Performing Arts, she is active in volunteer service for the Conway Brain Injury Community program, Genitiva Hospice, and Community Collaborations International. 

Wells is a sophomore double-majoring in public administration and exercise science from Little Rock. She is a Dean’s List and Presidential scholar. She is a member of the Bear Den, Resident Housing Association, Public Administration Club, and Student Orientation Staff (SOS).

Wells is the founder of Bears Adapt and recipient of the Emerging Student Leader of the Year award in April 2023.
