TOXIC AUDIO, a five-member vocal band, opens the UCA Public Appearances 2005-2006 Season with three shows on Thursday and Friday, September 29-30, in Reynolds Performance Hall.
Using nothing but the human voice, this a cappella ensemble creates high-energy performances of contemporary pop songs and timeless classics. Tickets are on sale now for the two 7:30 p.m. performances. In addition, a 10 a.m. student matinee is offered on Friday, Sept. 30, for junior high and high school groups. TOXIC AUDIO made its New York debut off-Broadway at the John Houseman Theater Center in late December 2003. They booked the hall for two weeks, to showcase the company at the Arts Presenters? national booking conference. After a two-month run of over 200 performances, they not only won the 2004 Drama Desk Award as ?Best Unique Theatrical Experience,? they also headlined the Drama Desk Awards ceremony. TOXIC AUDIO made its mark on the New York scene and established itself as one of the most original and fun productions in America.
