Theatre to present 'Threepenny Opera'

UCA Theatre and the UCA Department of Music will present ?The Threepenny Opera? by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill on April 13, 14, and 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Reynolds Performance Hall on the UCA campus.
The Threepenny Opera brings together beggars, thieves, and other seedy characters as a struggle for control and power ensues among the thieves. Called ?a masterpiece of musical theatre,? The Threepenny Opera was Brecht?s first and most commercial success. Weill?s musical score includes ?Mack the Knife? made popular in the 1950?s jazz version by Bobby Darin.

The set design is by Dr. Greg Blakey, director of theatre, costume design by Shauna Meador, assistant professor of theatre and lighting design by Scott Meador, lecturer and engineer for UCA?s Channel 6.
