CONWAY — The Charlie Daniels Band will kick off the 2017-2018 Pops series at the University of Central Arkansas’s Reynolds Performance Hall on Thursday, Sept. 28.

The performance is set for 7:30 p.m.

“We are thrilled to be kicking off our Pops season with the Charlie Daniels Band, whose influences have been felt across musical genres over the last 50 years,” said Amanda Horton, director of Reynolds Performance Hall. “Charlie is an amazing song writer, musician and vocalist, and he has recorded blue grass, rock, country and gospel music. You won’t want to miss this musical icon take the Reynolds stage.”

Daniels started his career playing bluegrass music with the Misty Mountain Boys in North Carolina. His unique voice earned him his own self-titled solo album in 1970 for Capitol Records. Two years later, he formed the Charlie Daniels Band, which went on to land its first hit with the top 10 “Uneasy Rider.”

He is known as an outspoken patriot, a mentor to younger artists and—at 80—still a road warrior. Daniels has a passion for music and loves to show it.
