CONWAY — The 5 Browns will return to the University of Central Arkansas for a concert in the Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall on Monday, April 15.

The 7:30 p.m. concert is part of UCA Public Appearances’ Night Out Series.

Jerry Biebesheimer, director of Public Appearances, said the group was coming back by popular demand.

“They are inspiring young people to be interested in the piano,” he said. “They seem to have so much fun playing piano, it becomes kind of contagious. It will be a really fun evening.”

The 5 Browns — siblings Ryan, Melody, Gregory, Deondra and Desirae — all attended Juilliard School in New York, with all five being enrolled at the same time for one semester. The quintet has performed at the Grand National Theater in China, Suntory Hall in Japan, The Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, Symphony Hall in Chicago and Alice Tully Hall in New York City.

In 2002, People magazine dubbed the quintet “The Fab Five”, and they were featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show and 60 Minutes. The group’s goal is to introduce classical music to the widest and most excited audience they can find.

Biebesheimer said many people have suggested having The 5 Browns return in the eight years since their previous performance.

“A little over a year ago we put signed posters on the wall,” he said. “After about 50 or 60 times of people pointing to [The 5 Brown’s] poster and saying, ‘You need to get those people back sometime,’ it finally sank in.”

Tickets, available at the UCA Ticket Central Box Office, range from $30-$40 and are free to UCA students with current I.D. Tickets for children and other students are $10. For tickets, call (501) 450-3265 or toll free from anywhere in Arkansas at 1-866-810-0012 or visitwww.uca.edu/reynolds.
