The 2016 Scroll Yearbook Launch Party scheduled for Friday, April 22, 2016, has been cancelled, and the 2016 Scroll is being recalled due to errors in the publication.
We ask that you return your yearbook to the table in the front of the UCA Bookstore in the Student Center. You may return your yearbook from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m starting today through next Friday.
The Scroll staff is preparing a means to correct the aforementioned yearbook pages. The Scroll hopes to distribute the corrected books by Friday, April 29, in the Student Center.
We apologize for errors that appear in The Scroll, including use of the term “thug faces” to describe African-American students performing in a UCA Step Show.
After discussing the issue with individuals who voiced concerns about the use of this term, we understand that the word used in this context is highly offensive to many. The yearbook is an independent publication, written and produced by students. The yearbook staff is taking steps to assure such errors aren’t made again.
Again, we offer our sincere apology.
