CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas’s Baum Gallery will feature its Annual Student Competitive Art Exhibition March 2-16.

“The student competitive exhibition is one of the most popular Baum exhibitions simply because many of the student are familiar with the artists, and this gives them a chance to see what their colleagues are doing,” said Brian Young, interim director of the Baum Gallery.

UCA students are encouraged to enter up to three original works by Feb. 23. Works submitted must be properly labeled and have been created in spring, summer or fall of 2016 or spring 2017.

The artworks will be judged Feb. 24, and winners will be notified the following day. There will be up to five cash prizes. The juror will be Howard J. Risatti, emeritus professor of Contemporary Art, Craft, and Critical Theory at Virginia Commonwealth University.

The opening reception for the exhibition will be Thursday, March 2 at 4 p.m.
