Straight No Chaser (SNC), the nine-voice male a cappella group with a massive fanbase and a sense of humor, brings its “Making Spirits Bright Tour” to Reynolds Performance Hall on the University of Central Arkansas campus Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $34.50 to $57.50 for adults.
If the phrase “male a cappella group” conjures up students in blue blazers, ties and khakis singing traditional college songs on ivied campuses, think again. Straight No Chaser is neither straight-laced nor straight-faced, but neither is it vaudeville-style kitsch. The group is the captivating sound of nine unadulterated human voices coming together to make extraordinary music that moves people in a fundamental sense, with a sense of humor.
SNC has built a long list of accomplishments, including:
- 2 RIAA Gold Certified albums
- Over 1.5 million concert tickets sold
- Over 1 billion streams on Pandora
- Over 2 million albums sold worldwide
“Straight No Chaser is the real deal,” Amanda Horton, executive director of UCA Public Appearances, said. “They are definitely a fan favorite, and we expect this show to be a sell-out!”
Performance Partners for “Straight No Chaser: Making Spirits Bright” are the Arkansas Times and Bananagraphics.
Tickets are on sale now and may be purchased at the Reynolds box office or Windgate Center for Fine and Performing Arts box office Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., online at uca.edu/pa, or by calling UCA Ticket Central at (501) 450-3265 or toll free at (866) 810-0012.
