STEWARDS OF CHILDREN TAKE ACTION AGAINST CHILD ABUSE

Division of Outreach and Community Engagement

The Children’s Advocacy Alliance will lead a child abuse prevention training on Monday, Oct. 15 from 6-8 p.m. at the Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center on the UCA campus. The Stewards of Children training program is designed to be a resource to resolve sexual abuse against children.

The workshop will include a DVD presentation with commentary from sexual abuse survivors, experts in the field and concerned adults. An open and thought-provoking discussion will follow, meant to emphasize issues in prevention, both in the community and in organizations that serve children.

Because the training course is designed to engage trainees, an interactive workbook will guide the discussion, reiterate key concepts and serve as an action plan for resolving child sexual abuse. Upon completion of the program, trainees will be awarded a certificate and two professional development units.

This training session is open to the public. There is no cost to attend, however, registration is required. For more information and to RSVP, please visit uca.edu/outreach/classes/childabusepreventiontraining/.
