The UCA Staff Senate will participate in Faulkner County’s annual spring clean-up during the month of April sponsored by Keep Faulkner County Beautiful. Staff members interested in helping pick up litter along Conway’s streets, highways and streams, and in public parks can volunteer by contacting Judy Corcoran at 450-5137. This project will help the city prepare for two major events, the Toad Suck Daze Festival during the first of May, and UCA’s Spring Commencement on May 7.
The kick-off event for the clean-up is scheduled for Saturday morning, April 16, from 8 a.m. to Noon at the Conway Chamber of Commerce parking lot. Supplies including trash bags, safety vests and latex gloves will be provided, and volunteers will be given suggestions about areas that need to be cleaned. The UCA Physical Plant can also check out hand-held picker-uppers to volunteers who need them.
