Nearly 80 entities are expected at the 2013 Spring Job Fair at the University of Central Arkansas. The event is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 6, 2013.

The Office of Career Services expects 78 businesses, schools, and corporations at the annual spring event. “Some of these companies will be signing up interview sessions with students for the very next day,” said Tiffany Johnson, Associate Director of Career Services.

“They could meet someone in that room who could just change their lives forever with an internship or a job,” she said.

Students should have plenty of resumes to distribute to potential employers. Johnson said students still have time to visit the Office of Career Services to receive assistance with writing their resumes.

All classifications of students are encouraged to attend.

“We do see that employers are looking for interns on the freshman and sophomore level and it used to be just the junior level,” Johnson said.

Students should dress appropriately for the event. Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are encouraged to wear business casual clothes meaning slacks and shirts for male students, and blouses and skirts or slacks for female students. Seniors are encouraged to wear a full business suit. Johnson said, “If they decide they want to wear full business professional, thumbs up to them. We want them to make a good first impression.”

Students are also encouraged to arrive as early as possible to be able to meet each of the 78 employers, businesses, and schools that are registered to attend.

“We want the student to think seriously, dress seriously and be serious,” she said.
