Shephard to keynote speaker at UCA’s annual MLK Prayer Breakfast

The University of Central Arkansas will host the annual MLK Prayer Breakfast on Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, in the Ronnie Williams Student Center Ballroom. 

The official program begins at 9 a.m., and breakfast begins at 8:15 a.m. The keynote speaker for the event will be Arkansas State Rep. Tara Shephard. 

Shephard is serving her first term representing Arkansas District 79 which includes parts of Pulaski County.  During this term, she has championed issues related to children and helped to pass an opioid bill, which was signed into law by Arkansas Gov. Sarah Sanders.

Shephard is also a former Little Rock School District board member in which she served as the representative for over 50,000 residents and seven schools.
