The Baum Gallery at the University of Central Arkansas will present the Spring BA/BFA Senior Show April 5-26.
The exhibition is free and open to the public. The Baum Gallery, located in McCastlain Hall, is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10-5 p.m. and Thursdays from 10-7 p.m. Opening receptions are set for Thursday, April 5, from 4-7 p.m., and Sunday, April 8, from 2-4 p.m. at the Baum Gallery in McCastlain Hall.
During this exhibition, graduating BA/BFA students work with the director of the gallery to install their work. This experience gives students the opportunity to show their work in a professional environment. This event also continues the Baum Gallery’s mission of developing exhibitions that encourages dialogue among contemporary artists.
The exhibition is a requirement for graduating students with a BA or BFA in art.
“This exhibition is the culmination of their education at UCA,” said Dr. Jeff Young, chair of the UCA Department of Art. “The work on display is a synthesis of their effort. Working with the Baum Gallery, the BA/BFA exhibition provides a museum venue for these students’ work to be seen against the backdrop of their peers.”

Bachelor of Arts in Art: Logan Melton of Walnut Ridge; Matthew Gentry of Little Rock, Merritt Haddock of McGehee, Jordan Richard of Conway, Anna Shannon of Maumelle, Terri Adkinson of Redondo Beach, Calif., Houston Castle of St. Louis, Mo., Mika Goshien of Little Rock, Patrick Haynes of North Little Rock, Mia Killion of Quitman, Carlo Manuel of Benton, Teal Rea of Conway, Madalyn Strickland of Fort Smith and Paige Yutsus of San Diego.
This exhibition is the second BA/BFA show of this school year. The Baum organizes about six exhibitions per year and attempts to incorporate student work when appropriate.
“The Baum Gallery exists for the students, whether that be showcasing their work or featuring exhibitions that will inspire their work,” Director of the Baum Gallery Brian Young said. “Hosting the BA/BFA show is an honored tradition that many people on the UCA campus put on their calendar.”
