Reynolds Performance Hall to present ‘The Wizard of Oz’ 

The University of Central Arkansas Reynolds Performance Hall will present Vital Theatre Company’s production of “The Wizard of Oz” on Friday, April 21, at 6 p.m. 

This production is a one-hour adaptation of “The Wizard of Oz,” the classic tale that has been  entertaining audiences for ages. It features a cast of six actors, the Munchkins as puppets, one  flying monkey and a funny witch. Perfect for audiences 2-7 years old. Rediscover the joy of  following the yellow brick road with Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly  Lion as they travel through a reimagined world of Oz. Originally adapted, designed and  directed for Vital Theatre Company by Michael Schloegl. 

Vital Theatre Company is based in New York City and has been producing educational and entertaining children’s programming since its opening in 1999. They have been honored with some of the following honors including a 2012 Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best Family  Show, an American Theatre Wing Award for Continued Commitment to Excellence in  Theatre, a Theatre Company of the Year Award by nytheatre.com and many more.  

Immediately following the one-hour show, guests can attend the  “Follow the Yellow Brick Road Party” to meet the cast along with cupcakes and treats for guests. Tickets for this event are separate from show tickets. Both the show and party are fundraisers for the Reynolds Main Stage  Education Series and all ticket sales go to benefit this program.  

Tickets for the show are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets to the party are in addition  to show tickets and are $25 per person.
