RECALL OF ECLIPSE GLASSES

The University of Central Arkansas has learned that a recall was issued for the solar eclipse glasses that were to be distributed Monday, August 21 during the solar eclipse event on the McAlister Hall lawn.

The vendor providing the solar eclipse glasses initially provided a certification stating that the glasses were safe to use and the manufacturer was listed on the NASA-approved list. The university was contacted today and informed that the glasses have been recalled.

If you have already received a pair of the glasses, we urge you not to use them, and please return them to Wingo Hall 113.
Glasses Recall
We will still have a limited amount of NASA-approved glasses at the lunch at McAlister Hall on Monday that can be shared by those that want a glimpse of the eclipse from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

If you have your own solar eclipse glasses, we encourage you to check the safety of them. This website is a good resource:

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but the safety of our campus is of utmost importance.
