Dr. Ronald Fritze, Department of History, was elected to the governing council of the Sixteenth Century Society and Conference at it?s annual meeting, Oct. 31, in Pittsburgh, Penn.
Council members hold office for a term of three years. Fritze previously served as the executive secretary of the Sixteenth Century Society and Conference from 1997-2002. Last year he served on the society’s constitutional revision committee and as a member of the committee selecting the winner of the Roland Bainton Book Prize for best reference book.
Fritze also published an essay, ?A New Repertoire for Historians?” in Historically Speaking Vol. 5 (Sept. 2003). The essay was part of a debate concerning the recent book ?Pattern & Repertoire in Hisotry,? by Bertrand Roehner and Tony Syme (Harvard University Press, 2002).
