UCA faculty and staff recently made the following presentations, publications, etc.: Brent Shires, Department of Music, performed as horn soloist with the Zeeland Community Band, Zeeland, Mich., presenting two movements of a work for horn and band by Claude T. Smith.
He is spending nine weeks at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp north of Muskegon, Mich., where he teaches and performs on horn. Among other major functions, he is a core orchestra member presenting a new opera commissioned to celebrate Blue Lake’s 40th anniversary, an opera written by James Niblock titled “The Last Leaf” based on a short story by O. Henry.

Drs. Julie Jefferson and Hao Liu, Department of Physical Therapy, presented a poster presentation titled, ” Analysis of Physicians? Referrals to Pediatric Physical Therapy: Do Physical Therapists Practice Autonomy?”, at the American Physical Therapy Association annual conference in Orlando in June.
