Three faculty members from the College of Business Administration recently presented their research at an international conference. Drs. Mark McMurtrey and Ken Griffin, Department of Management Information Systems, and Roy Whitehead, Department of Accounting, traveled to Pittsburgh, Penn. for the 17th Annual Conference of the International Academy of Business Disciplines. The conference was held at the Hilton Pittsburgh from April 7-10.
Among other papers, they presented research on computer identity theft, the fastest growing crime in the United States today. The conference was attended by over 220 academicians, researchers, and practitioners from all over the world.
Dr. Peter Mehl, College of Liberal Arts, has had a book published by the University of Illinois Press. The book is titled, “Thinking Through Kierkegaard: Existential Identity in a Pluralistic World.” Dr. Charles Harvey, chair of the philosophy and religion department, said “Mehl’s book brings Kierkegaard’s thought squarely into dialogue with the most vexing problems of selfhood in our pluralistic twenty-first century.”
