Brent Shires, Department of Music, was invited to perform at the University of Oklahoma Sept. 25-26 with featured artist Lowell Greer (internationally renowned French hornist).
Shires was in the performance of Greer?s composition, “Requiem du Chasseur,? a work for tenor voice, organ, solo and ensemble hunting horns. Those performing in the artist horn quartet included Lowell Greer, Bruce Schultz (principal hornist of the Tulsa Ballet/Opera/Philharmonic), Chris Leuba (principal hornist of the Portland Opera, Oregon), and Shires, with others supporting.
Dr. William H. Friedman, Department of Management Information Systems, presented a paper, “The Law of Comparative Advantage and Offshoring IT Jobs,” to the Arkansas College Teachers of Business and Economics at Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center on Oct. 1. This was the 54th annual meeting of the statewide business faculty group.
Nichole Fest, a graduate assistant with the Department of Housing and Residence Life, was published in the October 2004 issue of Campus Activities Programming Magazine, a magazine focused on programming for student activities areas on college campuses. The magazine is published by the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA).
Fest?s article is titled ?Presenting Educational Sessions Opens Doors to Professional Development, Enrichment?.
Fest is the Residence Hall Association advisor and is currently pursing a master?s degree in UCA?s College Student Personnel Administration program. She received a bachelor?s degree in business technology support from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Fest is affiliated with the Association of College Student Personnel Administrators (ACPA), the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) and has been the recipient of various program and service awards from the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH).
