The following presentations, publications and accomplishments were submitted by UCA faculty and staff: Michael Rubach, Department of Marketing, Management and Information Systems, recently had an article titled ?Does Good Governance Matter to Institutional Investors? Evidence from the Enactment of Corporate Governance Guidelines? accepted for publication in the Journal of Business Ethics. The article was co-authored with Armand Picou, a finance professor at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
Brooks Green, Department of Geography, published a review of Richard V. Francaviglia’s ?Mapping and Imagination in the Great Basin: A Cartographic History? in the Winter 2006 issue of Utah Historical Quarterly.
Dr. Jim Guinee, Department of Counseling, presented “Working with survivors of spiritual abuse: A case study” on Feb. 2 at the annual conference of the Georgia College Counseling Association.
Dr. Myles Quiben, Department of Physical Therapy, completed the item-writing workshop series from the National Board of Medical Examiners as part of her appointment to the Specialization of Content Experts (SACE) in Geriatric Physical Therapy. The American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) established SACE to create a cadre of trained item writers to facilitate the production of high-quality test items. Dr. Quiben belongs to the pool of certified specialists and content experts who write for the specialist certification examinations. SACE II training was completed in San Diego, Calif. in February 2006.
Dr. Bill Bandy, Department of Physical Therapy, was recently appointed to be the editor-in-chief for the North America Journal of Sports Physical Therapy, a journal primarily for sports physical therapists all over United States and Canada (more than 8,000 readers). The editorial board members include sports rehabilitation experts from all over the world.
