The UCA College of Business hosted the 54th annual meeting of the Arkansas College Teachers of Economics and Business on Friday, Oct. 1 in the Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center.

The organization was welcomed by Pat Cantrell, dean of the College of Business, and Joe Horton, president of the association and professor of economics at UCA.

The keynote address was given by Dr. Linda Beene, director of the Arkansas Department of Higher Education, and formerly an employee of UCA.

The luncheon sddress was presented by Arkansas State Banking Commissioner Bunny Adcock, also a former administrator at UCA.

At the business meeting Lauren Maxwell, UCA Department of Economics, Finance, Insurance and Risk Management, was elected program chair and chair of the executive committee.

Don Bradley participated as a member of the Panel on Family Business and Entrepreneurship

Lauren Maxwell and Nona French were members of the Panel on Business and Economic Education.

John Watt presented a paper on “Using Feature Films to Enhance Management Education.”

William Friedman presented a paper on “The Law of Comparative Advantage and Offshoring IT Jobs.”

Doug Isanhart presented a paper on “Soviet Agri-Politics in Central Asia or How to Destroy the Sugar Beet Industry of Kyrgyzstan.?
