Hatcher, R.L., & Gillaspy, J.A. (in press). ?Development and validation of a revised short version of the Working Alliance Inventory (WAI-SR).? Psychotherapy Research.
Donna Fisher Smiley, Department of Speech-Language Pathology, was invited on July 30 to present a clinic titled ?Enjoy Life in Stereo ? Protect the Hearing of Students and Teachers in Rehearsal? to band directors at the Arkansas Bandmaster?s Association Summer Conference. There were 75 attendees. In addition to the clinic, she and a graduate student performed hearing screenings at the conference. About 120 band directors took advantage of this screening.
Smiley was also recently notified that an article she co-wrote was accepted for publication by Rehabilitation Journal. The article is titled ?International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF): Implications for Deafness Rehabilitation Education.?
John Murphy, Department of Psychology and Counseling, was recently notified that two of his articles had been accepted for publication:

Marc Hirrel, Department of Biology, was recently presented with the “Red Lantern Award” by Ed Pembleton, executive director of the Leopold Education Project (LEP).
The Red Lantern Award is presented to the outstanding LEP State Coordinator annually at the National LEP Workshop. LEP is an environmental education program based on the classic writings of renowned conservationist, Aldo Leopold. In the past three years, LEP has trained over 150 educators in Arkansas.
Stephanie Vanderslice, Department of Writing and Speech, has been named associate editor of New Writing: The International Journal for the Practice and Theory of Creative Writing, published by Multilingual Matters out of the United Kingdom. She also has been appointed grants reviewer for the British Arts and Humanities Research Council.
