Mary H. Mosley, Ed.D., College of Education, is president of the Arkansas State Communication Association. Several members of the association hosted a breakfast for Arkansas legislators on Tuesday, Feb. 1 at the Capitol Cafe in the State Capitol.
Speech, debate and drama teachers from around the state chatted with legislators and lobbyists to inform them of the organization’s activities such as tournaments and student congress, which ASCA college, high school and middle school members sponsor. The association works with teachers and schools to improve speech communication skills for Arkansas students.
Also attending from UCA were Dr. Rollin Potter, dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communication; Dr. John Gale, University Studies; and Dr. Sally Roden, dean of Undergraduate Studies.
Roger Pauly, Department of History, recently published a book titled ?Firearms: The Life Story of a Technology? with Greenwood Publications.
Stephanie Vanderslice, Department of Writing and Speech, recently published an essay titled “Snapshots of An Academic Daughter, Daughter-in-Law, Mother,” in the Fall 2004 issue of Writing On the Edge: On Writing and Teaching Writing.
