OT professor receives prestigious honor

Dr. Catherine Acre, Department of Occupational Therapy, will soon become only the third Arkansan to have her name placed on the American Occupational Therapy Association’s prestigious Roster of Fellows.

The purpose of the award is to recognize occupational therapists who, with their knowledge and expertise, have made a significant contribution to the continuing education and professional development of members of the association.

Individuals receive this honor because they have made a significant contribution to the profession. Acre has contributed through her years of service on the national association’s Representative Assembly, activities in support of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, involvement in the Arkansas Occupational Therapy Association, and more recently, as an Occupational Therapy Examining Committee member for the Arkansas State Medical Board.

Dr. Acre has been a faculty member since 1987, and is a past recipient of UCA’s Service Award.
