UCA OPERA THEATER TO PRESENT HANSEL AND GRETEL
College of Fine Arts and Communication Media Office
CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas Opera Theater will perform Engelbert Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel March 31-April 3 in the Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall.
The opera will be sung in English.
“Hansel and Gretel is a charming children’s story of two children lost in the woods who come upon a gingerbread house owned by a witch,” said Dr. Rob Holden, professor of voice and opera and director of the UCA Opera Theater. “Humperdinck’s music is magical and very approachable for audiences of all ages. It is a delightful way to be introduced to opera.”
Performances are set for 7:30 p.m. March 31-April 2 and 3 p.m. on April 3. General admission is $10; student tickets are $5. Children 6 and under are free, as are UCA students with valid student I.D.
Tickets will be available at the door and may also be purchased by calling the UCA Department of Music at (501) 450-3163.
