CONWAY — The Montana Repertory Theatre will present the off-Broadway and Tony award-winning classic, John Patrick Shanley’s “Doubt: A Parable” in the Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall on March 1
The 7:30 p.m. production will continue UCA Public Appearances’ Broadway Series.
Doubt tells the dramatic story of five characters in a Catholic school in the Bronx during the 1960s and possible misconduct and falsities among the characters.
The New York Times wrote about the show, saying it was, “An inspired study in moral uncertainty with the compellingly certain structure of an old-fashioned detective drama.”
The 90-minute one-act play pulls the audience in, having them question the characters’ motives and side with others. According to interviews, Shanley said the second act was between the viewers after the play, with some siding with Father Flynn and others with Sister Aloysius.
“This will be a great show,” Jerry Biebesheimer, director of UCA Public Appearances, said. “The Montana Repertory Theatre is one of the nation’s foremost touring theaters, so Central Arkansans are getting a great opportunity to see a Pulitzer winning play presented by a first-rate theater company.”
Tickets, available at the UCA Ticket Central Box Office, are $30-$40 for adults, $27-$37 for senior citizens, $25-35 for UCA alumni, $28-$33 for UCA faculty and staff, and $10 for students.
