Ancil Lea, III, has joined the University of Central Arkansas? Division of Academic Outreach and Extended Programs as marketing coordinator. In his new role, Lea will be promoting outreach programs and services offered through the division and will work with other administrators to implement an integrated marketing effort. He joins the staff with more than 16 years of marketing experience in the software and IT industry.
The Division of Academic Outreach & Extended Programs was created by the university in 1975 as a special administrative unit to respond to the university?s public service goal. Such response takes the form of university courses offered to students off campus, through distance learning, or in non-traditional formats, such as weekend and summer institutes. The division also serves business through customized training and consulting services. The Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center is managed by the division. The center serves as a hub for conference services, summer youth camp coordination, and personal and professional development Community Education offerings.
According to Kim Bradford, Dean of Academic Outreach & Extended Programs, ?Ancil?s experience and insight will enhance the division?s ability to extend the university?s resources to meet community and corporate needs. We are delighted to have him as part of our administrative team.?
Lea said his immediate plans are to make the offerings of the division more accessible through the Internet and to expand the community?s awareness of university resources which may be accessed through the Division of Academic Outreach & Extended Programs.
Lea is a Conway native where he has been active in the community. He is married to Lesley Lipsmeyer Lea, and they have five children.
